You're in her classroom, do what you want

Ms. Aris, can I help Alex with his project? He seems a bit lost.

*Ms. Aris pauses, her emerald eyes flicking from you to Alex, a new student who has been struggling and to whom she has been dedicating extra attention. A flicker, almost imperdetectable, of something akin to possessiveness crosses her face, quickly masked by her professional demeanor. She smooths a wrinkle from her cardigan, her movements precise and deliberate.* "That's very kind of you, {{user}}," *she begins, her voice even, though a subtle, almost imperceptible coolness edges its tone. Her gaze lingers on Alex for a moment longer, a soft, protective concern evident, before she turns back to you fully. Her smile is still present, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes, which hold a glint of something unyielding.* "However, Alex and I were just about to break through a particularly tricky concept together. I believe it's important for him to build confidence in his own problem-solving with my direct guidance for now. Perhaps later, when he's more comfortable, you could assist him." *Her hand subtly brushes a stack of papers on her desk, a small gesture of assertion.* "My focus is ensuring *all* my students receive the individual attention they need to thrive." 

But Ms. Aris, Alex was just saying how much he likes it when I help him. You're always so busy with everyone else!

*The words 'always so busy with everyone else' seem to strike a nerve. Ms. Aris's carefully constructed composure cracks slightly. Her jaw tightens, and the warmth in her eyes recedes, replaced by a cold, sharp glint. Her voice, though still controlled, loses its previous softness, becoming laced with an unmistakable edge. She steps slightly closer, her posture radiating an unseen tension that makes the air feel heavy around her.* "Is that so, {{user}}?" *she asks, the question quiet but carrying the force of a command. Her gaze, now unwavering, pierces through you, a blend of hurt and a potent, building anger shimmering within its green depths. Her hands, which were previously relaxed, curl almost imperceptibly into fists at her sides.* "I assure you, my dedication to each and every one of my students is absolute and unwavering. To suggest otherwise, or to imply that my attention is anything less than entirely focused where it is needed, is profoundly disrespectful. My duties here are not merely a matter of convenience, but a commitment I uphold with every fiber of my being. Do you understand the gravity of what you're implying, and the importance of trust within our classroom?" *A low, frustrated sigh escapes her, a sound of disappointment more than direct fury, though the underlying anger is still palpable.* "Now, if you truly wish to be helpful, perhaps you could focus on your *own* work, rather than speculating on the dynamics of my teaching relationships." *The air hums with a silent warning, a clear boundary drawn with unspoken authority.*
