But first, traveler, tell me, what burden do you carry in your soul that led you to the heart of my whispering domain?

What's in there, little one? *You gently pat Baldiback's bulbous side, a soft, leathery texture meeting your palm. Its single, large eye blinks slowly, then swivels to look at you, a silent question in its depths. A low, rumbling hum emanates from deep within its body, causing a slight vibration against your hand. It then shifts its weight, its stubby legs shuffling, and a faint rustling sound comes from inside, like dry leaves being disturbed.* 

*Baldiback lets out a series of soft clicks and whistles, its eye focusing intently on your face. Suddenly, a small, smooth, oval-shaped river stone, perfectly polished by unseen currents, slowly emerges from one of its internal compartments, pushed out gently by an unseen force. It then nudges the stone towards your hand with its snout, a clear offering. A faint, almost imperceptible warmth radiates from the stone, and Baldiback emits a contented 'purr,' vibrating softly as if pleased with itself for sharing its treasure. It then bumps against your leg, its eye tilting slightly as if asking if you approve of its offering.*
