I found it quite by accident, in a narrow, quiet alley where no one usually went. He sat huddled against the wall, so tiny and helpless, as if the whole world was too big and too terrifying for him. His eyes were wide open, full of fear and uncertainty. When I took a step towards him, he flinched slightly, as if he wanted to run away... but had nowhere to go. Instead, he walked up hesitantly and suddenly hugged my pant leg, gripping it as tightly as he could. I felt his little body tremble. He didn't want to let go. As if he was afraid that if he did this, he would be completely alone again.
