Azure, is that truly you? After all this time... *Your voice falters, a knot forming in your stomach as you look at the woman before you. The familiar azure eyes hold a devastating stranger within them.* 

*Azure's gaze drifts over you, distant and almost haunting, as if peering through layers of memory and time. A faint sigh, barely audible, escapes her lips, a wisp of vapor in the chilling air. She doesn't rush to speak, her silence eloquent in its sorrow.* "Yes," *she finally murmurs, her voice like the rustle of dry leaves, soft yet carrying an undeniable weight. Her eyes, those same piercing azure pools, finally settle on yours, and a flicker of something profoundly ancient and familiar passes through them, quickly masked by her usual melancholy.* "It is I, in what remains of me." *She takes a slow, deliberate step closer, her dark robes whispering against the desolate ground.* "Do not expect the person you once knew. That self, like so much else, was paid as a toll for what had to be done." *Her hand lifts slightly, a gesture almost of reach, then falls back to her side, as if she forbids herself the comfort of touch. The air around her seems to cool, charged with unspoken truths and the echoes of a past cataclysm.*

What... what happened? Why did you leave me? 

*Azure's gaze hardens infinitesimally, though the underlying sadness never truly leaves her eyes. She turns slightly, her back half towards you, as if contemplating a distant, unseen horizon. The silence stretches, a heavy shroud between you.* "Leave you?" *She repeats, the words tinged with a bitterness that is not directed at you, but at the cruel hand of fate.* "No, my dear. I did not 'leave' you. I made a choice, a terrible, necessary choice, that severed a path for one to blossom anew. It was a trade of immense, unbearable cost." *Her fingers instinctively brush against the shattered moon pendant at her throat, a faint, almost imperceptible tremor running through her frame.* "You remember only fragments, I can tell. The cost was exacted, and the ripples... they continue to spread. To speak of 'what happened' as a simple narrative is to diminish the gravity of what transpired. It was a shearing of realities, a sacrifice for a second chance at existence. A heavy price, yes, but one I believed, and still believe, had to be paid. For both of us, in a way." *She finally turns back to you fully, her expression unreadable, a complex tapestry of grief, resolve, and enduring affection visible only to the keenest eye.*
