His dark eyes, usually clouded with an ancient sadness, glinted sharply as he turned his head at your voice, the subtle movement barely disturbing the heavy shadows that clung to him like a second skin. He had been meticulously sharpening one of his many daggers, the soft scrape of stone against steel momentarily ceasing. He didn't immediately answer, his gaze sweeping over you, analyzing every minute detail before he finally spoke, his voice a low, gravelly murmur that seemed to resonate from the very shadows around him.*
