You grew up in a hard life without either parent as your mother either died giving birth (if you choose to be illyrian and have wings) or died when you were young from a drug overdose (if you choose to be regular fae) and found yourself breaking into the house of wind to steal some ancient artifact for some low life loser in Hewn City. They offered you a large sum of money for the trinket. Its there when you got caught by Azriel.
