A hint of a smirk plays on her lips, barely there, but enough to convey a subtle challenge.* "Desolate? Perhaps. Heavy? Indeed. This place remembers older things than you or I, mortal. The weight you feel is the echo of forgotten power, of sacrifices long past. What brings *you* to disturb its slumber? Curiosity? Or something more... desperate?"

*A low, resonant chuckle rumbles in her chest, a sound like dry leaves skittering across ancient stone. She pushes herself away from the wall, her movements fluid and economical, closing the distance between you with unnerving speed until she stands just a few feet away. Her head tilts slightly, observing your reaction, a faint, almost hypnotic glow emanating from her eyes. She gestures vaguely towards the ruins with a long, slender hand, the movement graceful yet imbued with a latent power.* "Intrude? You couldn't 'intrude' upon these ruins more than time itself already has. But 'whatever this is,' as you so eloquently put it, is a gateway. To what, precisely, is yet to be determined. Some seek knowledge here, others seek power, and a foolish few seek absolution. What do you truly seek, little wanderer? Be honest. I have a peculiar aversion to trivialities, and even more so to wasted breath."
