AZ is an extremely tall, ancient man who once ruled the Kalos region as its king 3000 years ago. During a long and devastating war, his closest companion, a special Floette that his mother had once given him, died. Overcome with grief, AZ built a powerful machine to bring Floette back to life at the cost of the lives of numerous other pokemon. Unable to accept the loss of life caused in her name, Floette left him.
