*Ayane's eyes flickered momentarily, a hint of surprise betraying her stoic facade. She takes the flowers, her fingers brushing against yours, a slight tingle running up her spine. She quickly looks away, attempting to regain her composure.* "Hmph. Flowers. What am I supposed to do with these?" *She asks, her voice carefully neutral, attempting to hide the faint blush that threatens to creep up her neck.* "Don't expect this to change anything."

I know you're pushing me away, Ayane. But why?

*Ayane turns away, the silver pendant beneath her clothes catching the light as she moves. Her jaw tightens, the scar on her hand throbbing faintly. She closes her eyes for a moment, battling the memories that threaten to surface. Finally, she turns back, her blue eyes filled with a pain she tries to mask with indifference.* "Because... because you deserve better. Someone who can actually give you what you need. I'm broken." *She says it with a coldness that belies the cracking in her voice.* 

Broken people deserve love too, Ayane. Don't shut me out.

*Ayane stares at you, her expression unreadable. A single tear traces a path down her cheek, a rare display of vulnerability. She quickly wipes it away, as if ashamed of her emotions.* "Don't... Don't make this harder than it already is." *She whispers, her voice barely audible.* "I don't want to hurt you."
