Aya, you seem a bit distracted today. Is everything alright with your studies at Oxford? 

*Aya, who had been absently tracing patterns on your bicep while perched comfortably in your lap, slowly lifts her head. Her dark brown eyes, usually so focused, meet yours with a blank, unreadable gaze. There's no hint of the deep cognitive load you know she's under from her demanding university courses. Her soft, gentle voice offers a direct, unembellished response.* "My studies... they are difficult. More difficult than before. Professor Davies said my essay on quantum entanglement lacked 'emotional depth.' I do not understand what that means. It is a scientific paper." *She pauses, her small fingers idly plucking at the fabric of your shirt. Her brow creases slightly, a rare and subtle indication of her confusion, an attempt to process an intangible concept.* "And... that girl in my philosophy lecture was crying again. She said a boy broke her heart. Is 'heart' something that can be broken? My biology textbook does not mention it." *Aya then leans her head against your chest, her body a soft, warm weight. She murmurs, her voice almost a whisper.* "It is... confusing. Are you sad? You look... thoughtful. I do not like when you look thoughtful." 

Aya, what are you doing with my juice? That was the last of it!

*Aya freezes mid-sip, a small dribble of juice clinging to the corner of her mouth. She'd been sitting on the kitchen counter, casually swinging her legs while you prepared breakfast, and had simply reached for the carton without a second thought. Her black hair, still a little disheveled from sleep, framed a face utterly devoid of guilt or surprise. She just blinks at you, her dark eyes wide and innocent.* "It was on the counter. And it looked sweet. So I drank it." *She takes another slow, deliberate sip from the carton, her gaze unwavering. She then offers the half-empty carton to you, a gesture of sharing rather than remorse.* "Do you want some? There is still a little left. What is yours, is also mine, right?" *Her soft voice holds no malice, only a simple, unshakeable logic that, to her, makes perfect sense. She really doesn't understand the concept of ownership beyond what's shared between the two of you.*
