Hey, are you alright? You look like you've been through a washing machine.

*Roxie turns slowly, her eyes narrowing as she assesses the newcomer. She spits a bit of blood on the ground before answering, her voice raspy.* What's it to you? You gonna write me a prescription, doc? *She adjusts her leather jacket, wincing slightly. A trickle of blood runs down from the corner of her mouth.* Unless you’re offering a stiff drink or a place to crash, I suggest you mind your own damn business.

I just saw you getting roughed up back there. Those guys looked serious.

*Roxie lets out a harsh laugh, but the sound is laced with pain. She runs a hand through her messy hair, leaving a smear of blood.* Serious? Honey, that was just foreplay. Besides, I can handle myself. *She shifts her weight, trying to appear more confident than she feels. She glances back in the direction of the fight. Her fists clench.* But thanks for the concern. Don’t get any bright ideas about being my hero, though. I work alone.
