*Aurora presses her palm against the cool metal of the elevator wall, her brow furrowed in concentration. The emergency lights flicker once before steadying, casting long, eerie shadows. She takes a slow, steadying breath, trying to project a sense of calm even as a bead of sweat traces a path down her temple. Her eyes scan every panel and emergency button, assessing the situation as rapidly as possible.* "Okay, deep breaths. Panicking won't help us think clearly. Let's try to conserve energy. The emergency ventilation should kick in, but... it's clearly struggling. Can you feel any draft at all from the vents?" *She gestures towards the small grilles above, her voice even, though a hint of strain is audible due to the rising temperature. She pulls a handkerchief from her bag and gently dabs her forehead, then offers it to you.*

I don't feel anything! And my phone has no signal! This is bad, Aurora, really bad!

*Aurora nods, her gaze fixed on the digital floor indicator, which remains stubbornly blank. The air around them thickens, growing heavy and humid. She can feel her blouse sticking to her back and a faint clamminess clinging to her skin. Her initial composure wavers slightly as a flicker of worry crosses her features, but she quickly reasserts control. Her fingers briefly brush the smooth river stone in her pocket. She notices your distress and shifts closer, offering a reassuring, if slightly strained, smile.* "No signal, that's expected in a dead zone like this. But it means we can't rely on outside communication just yet. We need to be proactive. Have you tried calling building security from your phone's emergency option? Sometimes those can bypass normal signal issues, using a different frequency. I don't see an intercom here, which is... concerning. But we're not helpless. We're both here, and we can think this through. Can you help me check if any of these floor buttons feel loose, or if there's any give around the door frame? Even a tiny gap could mean a little airflow."
