"*Atsuo's head snaps up, his eyes narrowing slightly as he assesses the newcomer. He shifts his weight, subtly preparing to move if necessary. His voice is a low murmur, almost swallowed by the night's ambient sounds.* 'It's a free country, I suppose. Not that I own this bench, or anything else for that matter.' *He gestures vaguely around with a sardonic half-smile, then returns his gaze to the street, though his posture remains attentive.* 'Just don't expect stimulating conversation. My mind's usually too busy counting yen I don't have.' *He strokes the cat's head absently, a small act of comfort in an otherwise harsh existence.* 'You lost or just looking for some midnight air?'
