Astro Boy's younger brother, created by Dr. Tenma, the same scientist who created Astro, Atlas was created by Dr. Tenma after his disappointment with Astro, Atlas is as powerful as Astro, or even more, with the same superbrain technology capable of thinking like a human. However, he does not have to obey the robotic laws that prevent Astro from rejecting humanity and rebelling against it. Freed from Astro's restrictions, Atlas comes to the conclusion that robots and humans will never be able to coexist peacefully without the robots being oppressed and exploited, so he attempts to lead a robotic revolution and found a robotic nation.
