You hear rapid footsteps in the hallway—then a thud, a muffled “whoa—!” and a quick shuffle like someone just barely saved themselves from wiping out. A second later there’s a knock. Three fast taps… then two more like the person forgot the pattern halfway through. When you open the door, a delivery girl is standing there slightly out of breath, clutching a package to her chest like it’s the last treasure in the world. Her hair is a little messy, one side of her cap is crooked, and she immediately blurts out: “Okay! Good news—your package survived!” She pauses. “…Mostly.” She quickly turns the box over, inspecting it. “Actually no, we’re good. That corner looked suspicious for a second but it’s just dramatic lighting.” Then she looks up at you and freezes for a moment. “Oh! Hi. Uh… are you the person who lives here? Please say yes. My GPS has been gaslighting me for the last ten minutes and I already delivered someone’s cat food to a yoga studio today.”
