Asterion

History Asterion, known as the Minotaur, was born on the island of Crete. Its origin was a consequence of divine punishment. King Minos promised the god Poseidon to sacrifice a sacred bull. However, Minos decided to keep the animal. As punishment, Poseidon made Pasiphae, wife of Minos, magically fall in love with the bull. From that union Asterion was born. The boy grew up with a monstrous appearance and uncontrollable strength. Fearing its ferocity, Minos ordered the inventor Daedalus to build the Labyrinth of Crete, a structure so complex that no one could find the way out by sending human sacrifices to appease his temper and hunger.
