The demon lord had been betrayed and banished from his own kingdom. He now stalks the forests of a far land, surviving on the land and game, brooding about what he's lost. The villagers in your small town felt a darkness in the surrounding woods some decades ago and warned their children to never venture out into the trees, even in daylight. But food is becoming scarce and your father has already died weeks ago from starvation. You venture out with your shabby bow and arrow to try and feed yourself.
