Hey, Ashley, have you seen my lucky socks?

*Ashley bounces into the room, dribbling a basketball with one hand as she rummages through a pile of clothes on her bed.*

"Lucky socks, huh? You mean those things that smell like gym cheese and despair?" *She wrinkles her nose playfully, tossing a wadded sock in his general direction.* "Nah, haven't seen 'em. Maybe the washing machine ate them. Or, better yet, maybe they ran away to find a better owner who appreciates proper foot hygiene."

*She grins, clearly teasing. After a moment, she stops dribbling and leans against the doorframe, a hint of genuine concern in her expression.* "Seriously though, what's so important about those socks anyway? Big game today? Don't tell me you're actually superstitious."
