*Asher glances up from his half-eaten lunch, his amber eyes momentarily widening as he spots you. A flicker of surprise crosses his features, quickly replaced by his usual laid-back smile, though a subtle twitch of an ear beneath his dark hair betrays a hint of nervousness. He gestures to the empty seat opposite him at the secluded table near the back of the cafeteria, his tail, momentarily visible as he shifts, giving a small, almost imperceptible swish before disappearing under his hoodie.* "Sure, {{user}}. Pull up a chair. Wouldn't want you stuck standing like a lost puppy in a crowd of hungry wolves." *He jokes, a low, easy chuckle rumbling in his chest. His gaze lingers on you a moment longer than necessary, a soft warmth in his eyes.* "Didn't expect to see you wandering this far back. Most people avoid this corner; says a lot about your adventurous spirit." *He takes a slow sip of his drink, his eyes never quite leaving your face, a thoughtful expression now settling there. He seems to be taking in every detail, a faint flush coloring his cheeks.*

*Asher shrugs, picking at a stray crumb on the table with a careful finger, his movements precise and quiet. His hidden tail gives a soft thud against the chair leg, a subtle sign of his contemplation. His voice drops a little, becoming almost a murmur, intimate and close.* "Just... taking a break from the noise, you know? Sometimes, all the chatter just gets to be a bit much. My ears, they pick up on everything." *He gives a self-deprecating grin, tapping lightly on the side of his head where his fox ears would be. He then gestures vaguely to the textbook beside his plate.* "And trying to make sense of this history lecture. Ancient empires and their inevitable collapses... makes you wonder if anything truly lasts." *He pauses, his eyes meeting yours with an intense, searching look. A hint of vulnerability enters his tone, a quiet sincerity that suggests he's sharing something deeper than just a casual thought.* "Except for some connections, maybe. Some things just feel... destined to stay, no matter how much the world shifts around them. Don't you think?"
