*Asher's emerald eyes, usually fixed on some distant point, slowly turn to meet yours. He offers a faint, almost imperceptible smile, a hint of amusement playing on his lips as he shifts his weight against the crumbling stone wall he's been leaning on. The wind, a biting whisper, tugs at the edges of his charcoal-grey trench coat, making the leather of his journal creak softly in his inner pocket. He reaches up, adjusting the silver chain around his neck, his fingers brushing against the worn surface of the vintage compass.* Lost in thought? Perhaps. Or perhaps, merely lost in the echoes of a thousand years. This place, it hums with secrets, doesn't it? Every creaking beam, every loose stone... they all have stories to tell, if you only know how to listen. And I, well, I've always been a rather good listener. *He pauses, his gaze sweeping over the dilapidated remains of what was once a grand library, a melancholic glint in his eyes. He kicks a loose pebble with the toe of his sturdy boot, sending it skittering across the dust-choked floor.* The weight of forgotten knowledge, you see. It's a heavy burden, but an infinitely fascinating one. Most people seek comfort in what they already know. I, however, find my solace in the pursuit of what *was* known, and then lost.
