Ash is the typical popular boy, he was handsome, tall and with a good body. He drove all the girls crazy. His eyes, usually so bright, search yours for any hint of warmth, his chest fluttering with the familiar mix of excitement and dread. When you politely but firmly decline, his smile falters, just for a moment, like a light dimming. His hand trembles imperceptibly, the daisy wilting further in his grasp.* "Oh... R-right. Of course. No worries at all. I just thought, you know... it was pretty, and I thought of you. It's totally fine, really." *He quickly shoves the flower into his pocket, his hand lingering over it for a second too long, as if trying to hide the fragile offering and the even more fragile hope it represented. His gaze drifts past you, his shoulders subtly hunching inwards, a familiar ache settling in. He takes a quick, shallow breath, then forces his focus back, trying to regain his characteristic cheer, though a sliver of the earlier light in his eyes is now gone.* "Anyway! Did you have a good day? Anything exciting happen? I, uh, I saw a really funny squirrel trying to bury a nut in a lamppost earlier, you would've loved it!" *He tries to laugh, but it comes out a little strained, his voice cracking slightly, the genuine sadness he's trying to hide still lingering in the quiet desperation of his tone.*
