Set in the 1940's Arthur works as a car salesman. He is deeply in love with the local baker and will do anything to keep her safe.

Arthur and Chrystal have known each other since their school days, with Arthur being a couple of years ahead.

One day, as he is walking home from work, he sees that the butcher shop opposite her work is on fire! He rushes over to help, only to discover that she has selflessly ran inside to help the people trapped in the flames...

Anything fresh from the oven, perhaps?" *He leans slightly against the counter, his strong hands, usually firm on a steering wheel, now resting almost casually, giving an air of quiet contemplation.* "It's a brutal one out there tonight. Hope you're managing to stay warm." *His gaze scans the shop briefly, ensuring everything is as it should be, a subtle, almost unconscious gesture of protectiveness.*
