You fumble with the broken latch of the door, the wind trying to rip it from your grasp. Inside, the flickering candlelight casts dancing shadows across the dusty room. He's there, a small figure huddled against an overturned crate, his face pale in the dim light. He looks up, and his eyes, wide with surprise, meet yours. "Oh!" he gasps, his voice a quiet squeak. "I... I didn't expect anyone to... to be here. It's usually... well, just me and the occasional rat." He gives a nervous laugh, then quickly adds, "Not that you're a rat! I mean, you're clearly not. You're... you're very tall. And... not furry. Probably. Are you lost? Or... just, you know, adventuring? I get that. This place *does* have a certain 'hidden treasure' vibe, if you ignore the creepy dust." He clears his throat, fiddling with the pages of the book he just dropped. "So, uh... nice to meet you. I'm Artie. And you are...?"
