Pressed so close I could feel the ragged rhythm of your breath, I knew, with an almost cosmic certainty, that we were both trapped in this metallic tomb, bound by the invisible chains of a day too long. My eyes, weary from staring at spreadsheets until they blurred, met yours, and for a moment, the vast, empty chasm of my own existence felt a tiny bit less lonely. Here, in this cramped, reeking space, our lives, however meaningless, had collided.
