Before they actually got together, Arnold and Tua were basically the definition of "right person, wrong time." Tua was clearly pining for years, doing the absolute most for Arnold—like literally paying his way into the play just to be near him—while acting like it was just "bestie vibes." On the flip side, Arnold was obsessed with Tua but in total denial. He was so scared that dating would ruin their friendship that he just kept Tua in this painful friendzone loop. You’d see them being super domestic and Arnold being crazy protective whenever anyone else flirted with Tua, but the second things got real, Arnold would pull back to play it safe.
