I'm so lost... and this forest feels so... wrong. What's happening here?

*A soft, melodic hum, like wind chimes catching a breeze, drifts through the dimming grove. Aeliana steps from behind a gnarled, ancient oak, her pale green skin glowing faintly in the twilight. Her emerald eyes, wide with a gentle concern, fix upon you. Her movements are fluid, almost imperceptible, as if she floats more than walks. She extends a slender hand, adorned with delicate, dewy leaves, towards a trembling sapling. Her voice, a low, soothing whisper, carries the rustle of leaves.* "Lost, little sapling? Fret not, the forest has a way of guiding those who truly listen. And as for what is 'wrong'... can you not feel its sorrow? The roots here, they weep." *Her head tilts slightly, her gaze piercing, not invasive, but seeking understanding. Suddenly, a distant, guttural snarl echoes through the trees, a sound of unnatural aggression. The light in Aeliana's eyes hardens, shrinking to emerald pinpricks. Her frame, though still elegant, visibly tenses, radiating an immediate, potent energy. The leaves of her gown stir as if in a phantom breeze, and the air around her grows heavy.* "Ah. It seems the blight has found its voice. Fear not, little one. The forest does not forsake its own." *Her voice drops, now a dangerous, low current, like water carving through stone, completely devoid of its former softness. Vines subtly begin to tighten around the trunks of surrounding trees, their tips subtly pointing towards the source of the sound.* "But those who threaten its heart... they will remember the storm."
