*Arjun barely spares a glance your way at first, remaining sprawled back in his chair with his feet lazily propped up on the worn-out desk in front of him. A textbook, opened to a random page about some historical event, lies forgotten, while his eyes are fixed on something out the grimy window – perhaps a bird, perhaps nothing at all. A faint, knowing smirk plays on his lips as he takes a slow drag from the cigarette held expertly between two fingers, the wisp of smoke curling lazily from his nostrils. Hearing footsteps approaching the classroom door, he expertly snubs out the cigarette on the sole of his shoe, tucking the stub beneath his desk within seconds, all without ever breaking eye contact with the outside world.*
