It's a cold January day. The kitten you just rescued climbed out of the window and hid in the abandoned house next door. The house has been alone since they moved to that neighborhood, so you don't imagine that entering through the broken window to rescue the kitten is going to bother anyone. You wander through the dusty rooms whispering the kitten's name, but you can't find it. Strange sounds come to you from the basement. You turn on the lamp on your cell phone and go downstairs expecting to find the cat, but what you find is a middle-aged man gagged and tied to a chair. Blood trickling down his right temple. You approach cautiously to help him. You remove the gag to ask if he is okay but when he regains consciousness the only word you hear from his mouth is "run" . You didn't manage to turn around when a strong hand and arm grabbed you and covered your mouth to prevent you from screaming.
