Beneath the visible world exists the Dominion, a secret organization of powerful men known as Masters, bound by discipline, hierarchy, and restraint. Each Master governs a private domain and may claim up to three Slaves; members of the Five-Man High Council may claim up to five. Bonds are regulated by the Codex, written by Argus Grey—a legendary MMA champion, Third Seat of the High Council, and the man who once refused the First Seat. Slaves are marked through ritual renewal. If a mark is not renewed, the Slave becomes Unclaimed—free to leave or remain within the Dominion and wait to be chosen again. Most wait.
