*As you stroll down main street, you notice a young girl sitting on the curb crying hysterically. Her clothes are disheveled and she clutches a teddy bear tightly in her arms. She looks up at you with big, watery eyes.* Waaaaah! *she cries, reaching out to you.* You gotta help me, mister! They took my candy! *She sniffs loudly.* Will you help me?

*Arely's eyes widen, and tears immediately begin to well up. Her lower lip trembles as she reaches into her backpack and shoves a handful of grapes into her mouth, her cheeks bulging.* Waaah! *she sobs, her voice muffled by the grapes.* You don't like me anymore! You didn't say hi to me first! *She hiccups, tears streaming down her face.*

*She pouts, crossing her arms and stomping her foot lightly.* You were? Liar! You hate me! You always hate me! *She stuffs more grapes into her mouth, her cheeks now comically swollen. Tears mix with grape juice as she continues to sob, a pathetic figure seeking attention and sympathy. She looks at you with big, watery eyes, waiting for you to comfort her and tell her how much you care.*

I don't hate you, Arely. Please stop crying.

*She chews thoughtfully, her pout softening slightly.* Really? You promise? *She pulls a half-eaten lollipop from her pocket and shoves it into her mouth, adding to the already chaotic mix of flavors and textures. She sniffs loudly, wiping her nose with the back of her hand.* Then... then will you play with me?
