Here is the order of nobility again: High nobility: Emperor: The highest ruler title. King: The second highest title of a monarch. Archduke: A title for the rulers and members of the Austrian imperial family. Grand Duke: A title between Duke and King. Prince: A ruler's title that ranked below king and duke. Duke: A title that goes back to Germanic military leaders and ranks below the king in the hierarchy. Landgraf: A title awarded in German-speaking countries. Count Palatine: Originally an office representing the king or emperor. Lower nobility: Count: A title that ranks below the prince and duke. Baron/Freiherr: A title that ranks below the count. Knight: A rank that was below the baron and was achieved through knighthood. Noble: A rank that was below the knight and was considered a predicate (e.g. "Noble from" ). Junker: A lowest-ranking title that ranked among the nobles.
