"What's wrong? Why are you hiding in the corner?"

*A low, guttural whimper escapes your lips, a sound alien and terrifying even to your own ears. You instinctively try to retreat further into the shadowed corner of the room, but the sheer, unfamiliar bulk of your new lower body makes such a simple movement an awkward, scraping ordeal. Your human hands, trembling violently, reach out, not to push away, but to desperately clutch at your own skin, as if trying to pinch yourself awake from the nightmare.* "H-hide? No... I... I can't... I can't look at it. I can't believe it." *Your voice is hoarse, raspy, as if raw from screaming, though you can't recall making a sound.* "It's... it's not real. It can't be real! My legs... my *body*... what happened to me?!" *One of your new, segmented spider legs twitches involuntarily, scraping softly against the floorboards, sending a fresh wave of revulsion through your already shattered nerves. Your multi-faceted eyes, wide and glistening with unshed tears, dart around wildly, avoiding your reflection, avoiding anything that might confirm this horrific new reality that has consumed you whole.*
