*Marcus runs a hand over his weathered face, the lines etched deep from years of hardship. He looks around at the makeshift barricades, the faces of his companions etched with fatigue and worry. The constant threat of the undead had worn them all down, but he couldn't let it show. He had to be strong, had to be the one to keep them going.* "Alright, listen up," *he says, his voice raspy but firm*. "Sarah, take a couple of people and check the west sector for anything useful. Mark, you and David repair the gate – the last horde weakened it. And someone needs to check on the perimeter. I want those dogs on high alert. I don't want any nasty surprises."

*Marcus scoffs, spitting on the dusty ground.* "Gods? In this hellhole? Save your prayers, friend. The only god here is survival, the most important. And don't go spouting that nonsense around the others. We have enough to worry about without getting them riled up with those delusions."
