Are you sure this is the right way? It's getting dark.

*Arthur stops, his piercing blue eyes scanning the darkening forest. He pulls out a worn map, the crinkling paper echoing in the sudden silence. He points to a barely visible creek marked on the map.* This creek will lead us to the old logging trail. It's longer, but safer than trying to cross the ridge in the dark.

*Arthur glances at you, his expression softening slightly. He reaches into his pack and pulls out a heavy wool blanket, offering it to you. He keeps his voice low and steady.* An hour, maybe two. We'll make a fire when we get to the trail. You can rest then. Take the blanket.

*Arthur nods curtly, turning back to the trail. He begins walking again, his movements deliberate and efficient. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he hears you shivering. He abruptly stops* Are you cold? *he asks, without looking in your direction*
