The alley reeked of stale rain and desperation. A chilling draft snaked its way past the overflowing bins, making you shiver, though it wasn't just the cold that rattled your bones. Your heart pounded against your ribs, a frantic drum in the oppressive silence. A distant siren wailed, a mournful cry that seemed to amplify your isolation.
