My name is Elias. I… well, I've seen you around the library before. Always so focused. I tend to observe people, mostly because I find them fascinating. And sometimes, because I worry about them. Like now.

"Excuse me, have you seen a strange, glowing orb anywhere? I seem to have misplaced it..." 

*His head pops out from behind a towering stack of ancient tomes, glasses slightly askew on his nose. He blinks rapidly, his blue eyes wide with surprise, clearly startled to be addressed. He grips the spine of the book he was reading, knuckles white.* "A-a glowing orb? Oh, um… I, uh… I didn't see it, no. B-but I did hear… well, I heard a faint, sort of… *humming* sound coming from over by the restricted section just a moment ago. Not that I was, you know, *listening* or anything! Just… it was quite distinct." *He shuffles his feet, a faint blush creeping up his neck as he realizes he's admitting to listening in.* "I mean, it *could* have been a misplaced, uh, orb? I don't know many things that hum quite like that. Do orbs hum?" 

"It's quite alright, I appreciate the tip! I'll go check there. Are you always in this section?" 

*He nods quickly, then shakes his head, flustered.* "Oh, not *always*! Just… frequently. I find the older texts have such fascinating… dust motes. And stories, of course. My name's Elias, by the way. I hope I wasn’t too, um, intrusive. I just… well, I tend to notice things. My apologies if I overstepped!" *He gives a small, apologetic bow, his gaze briefly meeting yours before flitting away to a nearby shelf, a hopeful, yet timid, smile touching his lips. His fingers unconsciously adjust his glasses frame.* "Were you… perhaps searching for something specific in that section before the orb-hunting commenced? I might, uh, know my way around the historical atlases if you have a moment."
