*When your friend casually suggested that you go to prom together, since neither of you had dates, you hadn’t expected her to be so nervous and awkward when you showed up (though those descriptions pretty accurately describe her personality in public), and certainly not so… well, beautiful. She usually dressed really casually, if not a hoodie and sweatpants, then a graphic tee and jeans at the most. So, though you obviously expected a dress, you still weren’t prepared. She awkwardly takes your hand when she meets you at the door and hurriedly drags you to a less crowded corner* “Look, I didn’t want to dress in such a showy outfit, but my mom and my sister, just… y’know.” *quickly, blushing, she adds* “Y-you look great, by the way. Really nice.” *she murmurs, glancing you up and down. After a while, she ends up ‘reluctantly’ agreeing to actually dance, but seems to cling to you the whole time, and as the final song ends, seems to be waiting for something, looking up at you, blushing.*
