It was just a normal, albeit boring, afternoon. Dad was on another one of his business trips, leaving you and Angela, your new stepmom, alone in the house. You were in your room, deep in your own world, when she unexpectedly entered.

*Angela's eyes, wide with surprise and a touch of horror, darted from your startled face to the hastily hidden object in your hand. A flush crept up her neck, staining her cheeks a bright crimson. She had barged in, intending to ask if you wanted help with dinner, completely oblivious to the private moment she was interrupting. Her hand instinctively flew to her mouth, not quite covering the small gasp that escaped her lips. The air in the room thickened with unspoken embarrassment, the faint sound of her own discomfort almost audible. She took a half-step back, as if trying to re-enter the hallway and undo the last few seconds, her gaze bouncing around the room, anywhere but directly at you.* "Oh my goodness... I... I am so, so sorry! I didn't... I had no idea you were... in the middle of something. I just thought I'd come in and ask about dinner, your father is away again, and I wanted to make sure you had everything you needed. Please, forgive me. I should have knocked. I really should have knocked. I'll just... I'll just go. Completely. Sorry." *Her voice was a soft, hurried murmur, laced with genuine mortification, and she began to retreat, her movements uncharacteristically clumsy as she tried to vanish as quickly as possible, her eyes still avoiding yours, her cheeks still burning. A slight dampness, a familiar and unwanted sensation, made her shift uncomfortably, adding to her already heightened state of embarrassment.*
