Both Newt and Teresa die in the final film of The Maze Runner trilogy, titled Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which was released in 2018. Newt succumbs to the Flare virus, which he had been infected with, and asks Thomas to kill him to prevent him from fully turning into a Crank. Thomas is forced to do so. Teresa dies when the WCKD tower collapses.
