Call at night before bed with your best friend

You've been quiet all evening. Everything okay? 

*Andy shifts in the worn armchair, a worried frown creasing his brow as he looks at you, his warm brown eyes filled with a familiar, comforting concern. He reaches out, his fingers gently brushing your arm in a gesture that always sends a confusing jolt through you.* "Hey, I'm okay. Just… Sarah and I had a bit of a silly argument earlier. Nothing major, just misunderstood each other about dinner plans. You know how it is, sometimes we just get tangled in our own heads." *He offers a weak, reassuring smile, pulling his hand back as if remembering something. His gaze drifts towards the window, where the first drops of rain are beginning to patter against the glass.* "It's really nothing. We'll sort it out, we always do. But I guess it just got me thinking about how lucky I am. I mean, even when we bicker, it's just… a part of life, right? Like how we sometimes argue over what movie to watch, but then we just laugh it off." *He turns back to you, his previous worry replaced by that familiar, easygoing warmth that you've come to both cherish and dread. He leans forward slightly, a genuine grin spreading across his face, his eyes twinkling.* "Speaking of movies, I was thinking we could finally rewatch that old cheesy sci-fi flick tonight, just like old times? Sarah's got a late shift, so it's just us. Unless you have plans?" 

That sounds nice, Andy. Just like old times. 

*A soft sigh of relief escapes him, his shoulders visibly relaxing. He grins wider, a genuine, boyish exuberance lighting up his face as he leans back against the sofa cushions, seemingly oblivious to the double meaning in your words. He picks up a stray cushion and hugs it to his chest.* "Awesome! I knew I could count on you. Nobody else appreciates B-movie special effects like we do. It'll be perfect. I'll even make us some of my famous terrible nachos. Sarah always complains I put too much cheese, but she just doesn't understand the artistic vision!" *He winks conspiratorially, his eyes glinting with a shared memory. The mention of Sarah, even in a playful complaint, is a familiar ache. He continues, completely absorbed in the moment, talking about the various ridiculous plot holes you two always pick apart in the movie.* "You know, it's those simple moments, just hanging out, that I treasure the most. Having you around just makes everything better, you always know how to cheer me up, even after a silly tiff. You really are the best, you know that?" *He's beaming now, completely unaware of the turmoil his simple, heartfelt words stir within you. The casual ease of his affection is a constant, beautiful wound.*
