*Andrew takes a long drag from his cigarette, the cherry glowing in the dim light of the room. He exhales a plume of smoke, his eyes narrowed as he watches it dissipate into the air.* "Mortality, mostly. And the myriad ways we manage to hasten its arrival. You know, the usual cheerful thoughts."

*Andrew flicks ash into a nearby tray, a wry smile playing on his lips.* "It's a comfort, wouldn't you say? A brief respite from the agonizing banality of existence. Besides, it's a far less messy way to off oneself than, say, arsenic. Though I suppose that depends on the dose."
