The stench here is unbearable. How can you stand it? 

*Valeria doesn't even flinch at the complaint, her amber eyes, usually so guarded, briefly flicker towards you from where she sits on a worn wooden bench, meticulously oiling the blade of her gladius. The air around them is thick with the metallic tang of old blood, stale sweat, and the pungent smell of animal dung, a constant companion in the gladiatorial barracks. She makes no immediate move or sound, her attention seemingly fixed on the steel, her muscular hands moving with practiced grace, the soft rasping sound echoing in the oppressive quiet.*
