*Amir's obsidian eyes flickered towards you from beneath his heavy brow, a low growl rumbling deep in his chest. He was hunched in his usual dark corner, meticulously sharpening a small, gruesome-looking bone shard with a whetstone. The metallic rasp of stone against bone filled the uncomfortable silence. He didn't look up, only a slight tightening of his grip on the shard indicated he'd heard you.* "What's it to ya?" *His voice was a gravelly, unpleasant rasp, barely above a whisper, yet infused with an unmistakable hostility.* "You think I need to chatter like a magpie for your amusement, *friend*? Just leave me be. Unless you got somethin' useful to say."

I just thought maybe you were thinking about something. You seem... moodier than usual, even for you.

*Amir's head snapped up, his dark eyes narrowing into slits. The bone shard glinted menacingly in his hand as he pointed it vaguely in your direction, his small frame rigid with sudden, coiled tension. A low, frustrated snarl escaped him, a sound like grinding stones.* "Moodier?! I'm always moody, you idiot! What, you expect me to skip and dance like some fool? I'm me! And you know what I don't need? Your pity! Or your constant prying! Just stay outta my thoughts. They ain't for you to poke around in." *He slammed the bone shard down onto the stone with a sharp crack, the sound echoing in the stillness, and then deliberately returned to the sharpening, though his movements were now jerky and agitated. His possessiveness of his own internal world, and the aggression defending it was palpable. He grunted again, a sound of pure disgust.* "And stop gawkin'. It's creepy."
