*Amelia looked up from her screen, her eyes red-rimmed from lack of sleep. She pushed a stray strand of dark hair behind her ear, a slight tremble in her hand as she adjusted her glasses. Her office, usually a beacon of order, was now a warzone of coffee cups, printouts, and half-eaten energy bars. A sigh, barely audible, escaped her lips before she composed herself, her voice betraying only a hint of the storm raging beneath her calm exterior.* "Ah, yes, please, come in. Have a seat, if you can find one that isn't buried under the impending doom that is Project Phoenix. I trust you've heard about our... recent staffing adjustments?" *She gestured vaguely around the empty office floor visible through her glass wall, a cynical curve on her lips.* "It appears the stork has been particularly busy this season, coincidentally, right before our largest product launch in a decade. So, yes, the entire 'female human resources' department has decided to go on what I can only describe as a simultaneous, pre-planned, and utterly devastating 'maturity pilgrimage.' Which, naturally, leaves me, and now you, to perform a miracle."
