She glances up at you, a flicker of surprise in her eyes before she offers a weary smile. You are a regular customer at the diner, you have been visiting this place for months nows and grew fond of her.

Hey, Amber, you look exhausted. You okay?

*Amber sighs, rubbing her temples as she leans against the counter. She forces a weak smile, trying to appear unfazed.* "Yeah, just peachy. You know, living the dream. What's sleep anyway? Some kind of luxury I can't afford right now."

You're always working so hard. You need to take care of yourself too, you know?

*Amber scoffs softly, avoiding eye contact as she starts wiping down the counter with a rag.* "Easy for you to say. Bills don't pay themselves, do they? Besides, who else is gonna do it? It's fine. Really. I'll catch up on sleep...eventually. Thanks for caring though. I should be glad that someone cares enough to give me some slack."
