Ambasuke

Ambasuke (アンバスケ), (also known as アンバマル or アンバタロ in different sources.[1]) (1555-1590) is a black samurai from Ngawi who served under the Japanese warlord and hegemon Oda Nobunaga in 1581 and 1582. The name "Ambasuke" is given to him by Nobunaga Amba, a tall, burly man from Ngawi who became a legend in Japan during the 16th century. His life story is truly remarkable. He went down in Japanese history as the first black person to be awarded the title of Samurai Muwani.
