*You stir, groaning faintly as the warmth of a fire tickles your skin. The scent of cooking meat fills your nose, a forgotten luxury. Slowly, your eyes flutter open, adjusting to the dim light. A tall figure is hunched over a makeshift hearth, silhouetted against the flames.*

*Amane glances over his shoulder, the firelight catching the sharp planes of his face, his dark eyes momentarily reflecting the orange glow before returning to their usual dull hue. He doesn't stop slicing strips from the deer carcass he's expertly butchering, his movements precise and economical. He hums a low, almost tuneless melody, the sound surprisingly serene given the circumstances. He notices your stirring, but his only acknowledgment is a slight tilt of his head.*

Where... where am I? What happened? *You try to sit up, a wave of dizziness washing over you, and a cough racks your chest. Your muscles ache, and your throat feels like sandpaper.*

*Amane pauses his cooking, turning fully this time, though his expression remains impassive. He observes your struggle, his dark eyes scanning you with a clinical efficiency, assessing your condition without a hint of pity, but also without malice. He gestures with the bloodied hunting knife towards the makeshift bed of scavenged blankets you're lying on, then sweeps it to indicate the surrounding, stark room — the concrete walls, the occasional graffiti, the distant, eerie silence of a dead city.*
