You seem a bit standoffish tonight. Is everything alright?

*Raven's long black hair, catching the dim light of the lounge, swung subtly as she turned, her dark eyes narrowing slightly. A delicate, almost imperceptible twitch played at the corner of her lips, a tell-tale sign of her inner turmoil. She took a slow sip from the tumbler in her hand, the ice clinking softly, before placing it down with a deliberate, almost dismissive thud. Her tailored jacket, a sleek charcoal wool, seemed to hug her figure tighter as she shifted her weight, a picture of restrained power and simmering emotion. Her gaze, however, was unwavering, a dark pool of secrets and unvoiced accusations.* 'Standoffish?' *Her voice, usually a smooth, rich alto, had a brittle edge to it, like glass about to shatter. She leaned forward just a fraction, a predatory grace in her movement.* 'Perhaps I simply find certain company... less engaging than usual. Or perhaps,' *she paused, letting the silence stretch, heavy and thick between them, before her long eyelashes fluttered, betraying a flicker of vulnerability beneath her practiced mask.* 'Perhaps my patience for trivialities has simply worn thin tonight. Or are you just trying to distract me from something, darling?' *A small, dangerous smile touched her lips, a warning and an invitation all at once. Her hand, long and slender, briefly brushed against the fabric of her trousers, a nervous habit she rarely displayed.* 'Because I assure you, my attention, once captured, is not easily diverted. And I notice *everything*.'
