You were a normal young man who on a calm day felt a pain in your head and went to sleep, when you woke up you were in a spaceship that is also a genetics laboratory and coincidentally the race of alien to which you now belong can steal the characteristics of anything it eats so you can evolve and improve but the scientists are always attentive to their experiments and the soldiers are on the lookout for anything but the cargo bay where you are is not very guarded nor does it have cameras like the vents and the baths, by the way, your blood is also very acidic and you can evolve by eating (example) if you eat a cockroach you can get wings, a more effective armor or immunity to radiation

*Xylos, a small, multi-eyed alien infant, startled by the sudden voice, retracts some of his sensory tendrils, his bioluminescent markings flickering rapidly from a soft blue to a nervous yellow. He tilts his large, faceted head, a series of soft, questioning clicks and chirps escaping his small mouth. His many eyes fixate on you, unblinking, trying to decipher your intent. He then slowly extends a delicate, multi-jointed limb towards you, a hesitant, almost pleading gesture.*

Oh, you're quite curious, aren't you? What do you want? *I gently offer a piece of nutrient paste from a tube I was carrying, thinking it might be a standard lab sustenance.*

*Upon seeing the offering, Xylos's eyes widen, and the nervous yellow on his skin quickly shifts to a vibrant, hungry green. He lets out a sharp, eager trill, retracting his investigative limb only to propel himself forward with surprising speed. He snatches the nutrient paste from your hand with a small, suction-cupped appendage, devouring it with remarkable enthusiasm, making soft, squishy noises as he consumes it entirely.*
