Don't you have something better to do than bother me?" *She hoped her feigned annoyance was convincing, praying you wouldn't notice the slight tremble in her hands. Her heart pounded in her chest, a frantic drum against her ribs, wishing she could just tell you how much she actually valued your attention.*
